Paralympic (Suryo Nugroho)

 

Suryo Nugroho. Born in Surabaya, April 17, 1995. Suryo Nugroho has loved badminton since he was 7 years old. At that time, he joined the local badminton club Surabaya.

Suryo Nugroho is an Indonesian badminton athlete who is ready to make the nation proud at the 2022 ASEAN Para Games on 30 July-6 August 2022. Before the event started, he told how he could become an athlete.

Suryo Nugroho began to lose his left hand at the age of 11. A motorcycle accident caused his left hand to be amputated. In 2009, Suryo started to wake up when he learned that there was a special sport for people with disabilities. His enthusiasm was so passionate that he finally won a bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. Suryo Nugroho managed to rise from adversity. Now he is a badminton athlete in the men's singles sector, SU5, is in 3rd place in the BWF rankings

A number of achievements have been achieved. Starting from winning a gold medal and two silver medals at the 2018 Indonesian Asian Para Games to winning a bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. But behind these brilliant achievements, his life is full of obstacles. Suryo said that before the accident that happened to him in 2006, he had become an athlete and joined the Hi-Qua Wima club in Surabaya. "Before I was an athlete. The U12 runner up in the 2005 Surabaya International Cup joined the Hi-Qua Wima club."
